This city has been on fire this past week, and I’m loving every minute of it. While I can’t claim to have been a Chicago Cubs fan since day one, I’m a huge sports fan and I’ve been lucky to be a part of the Cubs epic journey this year.
Being out at the bars across the city every night for the big games is something I’ll never forget. When someone asks me where I was the day the Chicago Cubs broke their 108 year World Series losing streak, I can proudly reply that I was in Chicago, about 2 miles from Wrigley with some of my best friends.

Then there was the parade. It’s a blast seeing Chicago come together and rally as one. I was so thankful to be able to be one in a sea of almost five million people at the Cubs parade. The smiles on everyone’s faces were well worth battling the crowds to get a glimpse of the amazing Cubbies and that gorgeous trophy. The sky was the perfect shade of Cubs blue that day.
I definitely put my ‘W’ flag to good use. It’s now proudly flying in my apartment window. Can you spot it? FLY THE W!
The Chicago Tribune printed extra newspapers for the World Series Champions. This is a gift to hold on to. The only other newspaper I have saved is from the day I was born. Two very important days!
I’m still on such a high from all the amazing festivities. This past week was one for the memory books! IT FINALLY HAPPENED!
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
GO CUBS GO!
..I already can’t wait for next season.
